Are you a side sleeper? Do you wake up with wrinkly skin in your decolletage? Don’t panic as the team at Skinvigor8 have the perfect solution for you!
Camille Calvet, twice Emmy award winning Hollywood makeup artist, invented the Silcskin Decollette Pads in 2004 specifically to combat chest wrinkles which form in the decolletage when the skin creases together while sleeping on your side.
Camille experienced first hand in hospital that silicone was being used on scar tissue. She also used silicone prosthetics extensively in her work and noticed that her customers skin was becoming much more supple as a result of this hence she put these two ideas together and came up with the revolutionary Silcskin Decollette Pads.
The 100% medical grade silicone pads adhere to the decolletage thereby preventing the skin from creasing while you sleep.
They also produce electro static energy between the two surfaces which can improve the irregular collagen structure and also create an increased blood flow which results in an improved skin tone. Silicone moisturises the skin by drawing the skin’s natural moisture to the surface. This process has been shown to hydrate the sin and is an important factor in healing scars.
The Silcskin Decollete Pads are manufactured from 100% medical grade silicone and are non-transdermal. Their quality is second to none which is proven in their longevity of 30-60 days compared to other similar products only lasting 20-30 days. They are sought after and sold worldwide and recognised for their quality, and efficacy.
Skinvigor8 have been distributing Silcskin in Australia since 2008 and we have over 100 stockists Australia wide. They can also be purchased via the website or by phone orders on 0407 422 888.

Chest in Show: The Decolletage Dos & Dont’s to Know
I wish I could hop in a time capsule and whiz back to my teenage times and tell my naughty little fifteen year old self to 1) not waste my time on any boy who spends his spare time watching Fashion TV (modeliser alert!), 2) put my hard-earned-working-at-Maccas money into gold bullions (and not Dotti), and 3) look after my décolletage as lovingly as I tended to the skin on my face.
Chest skin is probably the most vulnerable of all. There are several reasons for this. Most obviously, it’s – along with our face – usually the most exposed part of the body.
In the evening, of course, a low-cut gown is more than fine – gotta take the girls out from time to time – but during the day, when the ultra-violet rays play havoc with our skin’s support structure, not to mention play a game of join-the-pigment-dots with our melanocytes, you’re just asking for future trouble wearing scooped or slashed-to-there necklines.
Not only do we so often forget to sun protect this skin, but the décolletage is angled in such a way as to be prime UV target.
Let’s just throw a few other issues into the mix, shall well? Like the fact that push-up bras and sports bras can squish the area, while sleeping on our side can also cause lines (aka sleep wrinkles) to etch into skin here, mostly because there’s so little subcutaneous fat underlying – and cushioning – the décolletage.
And here’s another problem (just for good measure). Because of the delicate nature of décolletage skin, its wound healing ability scores a near-fail. So once this skin is damaged, remedies are few and far between.
Sorry to sound like a downer.
I do, however, have some good news for those of you who can already see signs of ageing south of the jawline. Check out these four fix-its …
*While over-the-counter neck and chest creams offer varying anti-ageing potency, a mix of fruit acids and prescription vitamin A will usually deliver visible improvement; see a dermatologist for treatment, however, all stress that a high-factor, broad-spectrum sunscreen remains the best active anti-ageing treatment for the décolletage. As we all know, sunscreen helps prevent future damage; but it will also allow the skin to naturally heal to some extent.
*Skinvigor8 Décolleté Pads (now $43.99), Skinvigor8, are impressive little numbers. Worn at night-time, these medical-grade silicone patches physically prevent the skin from crinkling up as you sleep; after several weeks, skin is noticeably smoother as a result. I wore them on my sleep-crinkled chest for the month before my wedding and I had baby-smooth skin by the Big Day.
*While many lasers are too strong for chest skin, the new generation of fractionated laser devices, which work by making microscopic ‘holes’ in the skin, as opposed to resurfacing it entirely, show promise. Warning: they don’t come cheap. So get onto that sunscreen and prevent as much as possible.
And on a bad chest day? There’s always a boat neck top, right?
